We will persevere!

We will persevere!

The very fast start-up of “de Mondmaskerfabriek” has made the adrenaline rush through our veins but now we have to face the music! It is time to deliver on our promise of creating a fast supply chain and this comes with its challenges. Our team is confident that we can overcome these challenges! Regarding sales, we need to keep our focus as the face mask market is changing continuously especially now that consumers are also wearing face masks. Our priority will remain to be the healthcare industry but we do see other face mask initiatives popping up and with that, the need for face masks could decrease quite a bit.

 The challenge surrounding our cashflow with our expensive raw materials is very relevant. The upcoming deal with the Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sports makes it possible to upscale our production with 2 or 3 machines and gives the advantage of buying our raw materials in bulk.

The first machine has to be adjusted mechanically which will take until the 25th of May where after we can be certified. Machine #2 is running but not as fast as we would like to. Meanwhile, the contracts of the first 3 status holders have been signed! The municipality of Arnhem has been able to find 20 status holders in only two weeks who will be hired in the coming weeks in the factory. A paid job for 28 hours a month of which 4 hours can be used do develop their Dutch and for personal guidance. Milad and Wassim have spent multiple hours behind the machine in the past. Menno en Bram van Qing are guiding the team with a good dose of enthusiasm!

It seems the ‘Mondmaskerfabriek’ has appeal as we look at the attendance of people willing to help us unbox them. As Merthus Bezemer (sales) says: winners have friends. Well, we shouldn’t call out a victory too early. The machines have to work, the certifications have to come in, and the raw materials can’t miss their flight…

Deal = done

When we receive our certificate and have upscaled our production, we will start supplying to the National Consortium of Resources. The ministry will help us by purchasing our face masks with the pre-finance of new machines and natural resources. The contract with the ministry has been set for 1 year and in that year we can start building the foundation of our company. The need for certified…
